Baltimore Peninsula
(formerly known as Port Covington)
Weller Development Partners was master developer for Chapter 1 of Baltimore Peninsula (formerly known as Port Covington), one of the largest development sites in the United States. Weller assembled, master planned, zoned and entitled all stages of development and constructed 15 blocks of infrastructure and five buildings totaling more than 1.1M sf of new vertical construction, catalyzing over $1B in investment in Baltimore. A new waterfront community in South Baltimore that has undergone an incredible transformation, the neighborhood spans 235 acres of land, with 2.5 miles of waterfront on the Middle Branch of the Patapsco River. Baltimore Peninsula offers amazing waterfront experiences and views as well as unparalleled accessibility directly from I-95.
The Weller Development team planned, designed, and executed all infrastructure for the five vertical parcels in Baltimore Peninsula, as well as an additional 10 parcels that will be pad-ready to support over 2M sf in additional density. The infrastructure project was funded by the issuance of TIF bonds in December 2020.
